LIP MONTHLY | January 2017

Hi guys!

1. Hola Neon Velvet Liquid Lipstick - DF ($17)

At first, I was not super impressed with the colour as it looked a bit too dark for my preference. However, after putting it on my lips, the colour did not look as dark as I had swatched, and also did NOT budge after it set. It was a lot more difficult to remove compared to the other lipsticks that I had swatched on my hands later on. As you'll see in the photos, I had wiped off the other 2 swatches on my hand, but this liquid lipstick was still there even after I had scrubbed it with a makeup wipe! The formula was not hydrating nor drying and came off as a"velvet" finish. It did become patchy after I ate and needed a touch-up. I would highly recommend wearing a thick lip balm underneath before applying the liquid lipstick! The formula really reminds me of the Rimmel London's Provocalips Liquid Lipstick in terms of staying power and feel.

3. Manna Kadar LipLocked Priming Lipstick - Bliss ($21)

Although the colour looked very promising when looking at it, it came off a lot lighter than I expected once I swatched and applied it. I was hoping for a dusty medium rose, but the colour came out to be a very soft light rosy pink that goes nude on me. The formula is light, hydrating, and creamy but that led it to slip around too much, was not buildable, and as a result was patchy on my lips. It did not wear long and has a light fruity smell.

4. Jelly Pong Pong - Hydrating Lipgloss - Necessity ($19.95)

It smells like grapes! LOL 

I'm sure some people would really like that smell - unfortunately for me, I am not a huge fan of artificial grape smells as it reminds me of my medication as a kid :P The lipgloss is very hydrating and feels light. The colour is pretty opaque for a gloss and you can get almost full colour after two swipes. It isn't sticky at all and generally felt very nice on the lips! After removing the swatch, I did notice that it had stained my wrist a bit. The only con was that the purple colour made my teeth appear a little more yellow than it actually is.
