Makeup | Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara and Stipple Brush Review

Revlon Mega-Multiplier Mascara
Price: ~$10 CAD
About: Our unique fibres are sealed in 360° tubes that plump and extend lashes for mega volume and extreme length
  • Flake-free smudge-proof wear
  • Removes easily with warm water
  • Mega Lash Brush™ deposits formula from lash line to tip for mega volume and extreme length
  • Available in 4 shades

  • Formula: The formula is very dry and thick. I often apply way too much even when I'm being very careful. Despite the thicker formula, my lashes appear very natural, almost like a "my lashes but better" look. It's hard to build it to get more volume - it's more length than anything but even then it's not "crazy." It doesn't hold a curl very well. Usually, I'll have to curl my lashes again after it dries. Because it is a fibre mascara, there isn't a lot of flakes or smudging. Additionally, it comes off quite easily with some warm water.
  • Brush: Very straight and not many plastic bristles to help separate your lashes. I have to go in and try to separate it, and really work the product. However, once I do it does give that "mega multiplier' look. My lashes are very fluffy looking.
  • Packaging: A lot nicer than it looks! Has a velvet bottle for a better grip.

Revlon Stipple Brush
Price ~$28 CAD

For those who follow me on Instagram - you already know how I feel about this brush. I'm not sure if I received a dud or something, but this shed like crazy! Every time I used anything like foundation or powder, I'd find at least 5 or 6 large hairs stuck to my face. Even just stroking the brush I had a lot of fallouts. Zoe, my friend who also got this at the Revlon event didn't experience any shedding so I'm very confused.
Regardless of if it sheds or not, I don't think it's worth the $28 tag - it's not very dense or soft. You could probably get better quality with an ELF stipple or spend the same amount on a Sigma brush.

Repurchase? Definitely not, it's already in my garbage.

Skin Care | BeMused Korea Earth's Recipe Brightening Whitening & 107 Snow Mask Korean Skincare Review

17:37 Jayyangg 0 Comments

One of my blogger friends in South Korea, Lisa, started her own Korean Skin Care website that ships to North America! Recently, Rose Rose (where I usually shopped) has stopped shipping to Canada because of postal reasons T_T I was low on serums and certain products so I'm so relieved that I have a great new place to shop skincare!
Bemused Korea has a lot of new brands I haven't heard of such as the ones she sent me! Lisa first asked me what my main concern was, which was brightening and whitening! So as you will soon see, she catered all these products to my need <3

These products were sent to me from her website, but of course - all my opinions are my own and are honest.
Price; $38 USD
45ml
The Gigawhite Radiance Serum features Gigawhite, a brightening complex of Alpine plants, including edelweiss, lemon balm, primrose, and other botanicals. This illuminating serum also contains proven brightening agents like niacinamide, licorice root extract, and tranexamic acid to diminish the appearance of dark spots on the skin and promote greater skin radiance.
Ingredients:WATER, METHYLPROPANEDIOL, NIACINAMIDE, BETAINE, PROPANEDIOL, PHELLINUS LINTEUS EXTRACT, ARCTIUM LAPPA ROOT EXTRACT, DIOSCOREA JAPONICA ROOT EXTRACT, BRASSICA OLERACEA ITALICA (BROCCOLI) SPROUT EXTRACT, BRASSICA CAMPESTRIS (RAPESEED) SPROUT EXTRACT, BRASSICA OLERACEA ACEPHALA LEAF EXTRACT, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SPROUT EXTRACT, PIPER METHYSTICUM LEAF/ROOT/STEM EXTRACT, PORTULACA OLERACEA EXTRACT, PUERARIA THUNBERGIANA ROOT EXTRACT, GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA (LICORICE) ROOT EXTRACT, PAEONIA LACTIFLORA ROOT EXTRACT, CNIDIUM OFFICINALE ROOT EXTRACT, VERONICA OFFICINALIS FLOWER/LEAF/STEM EXTRACT, MELISSA OFFICINALIS LEAF EXTRACT, MALVA SYLVESTRIS (MALLOW) EXTRACT, ACHILLEA MILLEFOLIUM EXTRACT, ALCHEMILLA VULGARIS EXTRACT, PRIMULA VERIS EXTRACT, MENTHA PIPERITA (PEPPERMINT) LEAF EXTRACT, SOLUBLE COLLAGEN, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, CITRUS AURANTIUM BERGAMIA (BERGAMOT) FRUIT OIL, PELARGONIUM GRAVEOLENS FLOWER OIL, SALVIA OFFICINALIS (SAGE) OIL, POGOSTEMON CABLIN OIL, SODIUM HYALURONATE, BIFIDA FERMENT LYSATE, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, TRANEXAMIC ACID, PEG/PPG-17/6 COPOLYMER, PEG/PPG/POLYBUTYLENE GLYCOL-8/5/3 GLYCERIN, TROMETHAMINE, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, TRISODIUM EDTA, ADENOSINE, POLYQUATERNIUM-51, GLYCOSYL TREHALOSE, HYDROGENATED STARCH HYDROLYSATE, RAFFINOSE, BIOSACCHARIDE GUM-1, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, PANTHENOL, XANTHAN GUM, LECITHIN, FOLIC ACID, GLYCERIN, CERAMIDE NP, CHOLESTEROL, ACETIC ACID, LACTIC ACID, PALMITOYL PENTAPEPTIDE-4, PHENOXYETHANOL, POTASSIUM SORBATE
  • Consistency: It's super gel-like and very very light on the skin! Prior to using this serum, I didn't like using a serum in the day because it made me feel like I had too many layers on and my makeup was going to slip off. However, Since I started using this Gigawhite Radiance Serum, I've started to also use serums during the day!
  • Ingredient: There are so many amazing plant-based ingredients very close and higher up vs just being lost near the bottom. JAPONICA ROOT EXTRACT and (BROCCOLI) SPROUT EXTRACT are a few call outs.
  • Claims: However, I do find that many times with this many ingredients, results are not overnight since there tends to be a bit of everything. I can't say that I saw radical results in brightening in my skin - but I can say that my skin does like this and I have been reaching for it and still do use it on a daily morning basis!
  • Scent: There's a little bit of a herbal aromatherapy smell? But it's very faint and disappears rather quickly.
PROS:
  • Light-easily absorbed
  • Smell
  • Moisturizing
  • Large amount of product
  • Kinda brightened over-all complexion
CONS:
  • Didn't really brighten any hyperpigmentation

The Moisture Brightening Cream helps to diminish the appearance of dark spots and even out skin tone, while providing hydration for radiant, clear skin. Containing Earth’s Recipe’s signature Gigawhite complex, a combination of Alpine plant extracts, this cream brightens and hydrates without irritating the skin. It provides an illuminating finish for glowing skin.
Ingredients:
WATER, GLYCERIN, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, NIACINAMIDE, DICAPRYLYL CARBONATE, LIMNANTHES ALBA (MEADOWFOAM) SEED OIL, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, BIFIDA FERMENT LYSATE, POLYSORBATE 20, METHYLPROPANEDIOL, SODIUM POLYACRYLATE, PIPER METHYSTICUM LEAF/ROOT/STEM EXTRACT, DIOSCOREA JAPONICA ROOT EXTRACT, PHELLINUS LINTEUS EXTRACT, ARCTIUM LAPPA ROOT EXTRACT, PORTULACA OLERACEA EXTRACT, PUERARIA THUNBERGIANA ROOT EXTRACT, GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA (LICORICE) ROOT EXTRACT, PAEONIA LACTIFLORA ROOT EXTRACT, CNIDIUM OFFICINALE ROOT EXTRACT, BRASSICA OLERACEA ITALICA (BROCCOLI) SPROUT EXTRACT, BRASSICA CAMPESTRIS (RAPESEED) SPROUT EXTRACT, BRASSICA OLERACEA ACEPHALA LEAF EXTRACT, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SPROUT EXTRACT, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) LEAF EXTRACT, VERONICA OFFICINALIS FLOWER/LEAF/STEM EXTRACT, MELISSA OFFICINALIS LEAF EXTRACT, MALVA SYLVESTRIS (MALLOW) EXTRACT, ACHILLEA MILLEFOLIUM EXTRACT, ALCHEMILLA VULGARIS EXTRACT, PRIMULA VERIS EXTRACT, MENTHA PIPERITA (PEPPERMINT) LEAF EXTRACT, SOLUBLE COLLAGEN, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, CITRUS AURANTIUM BERGAMIA (BERGAMOT) FRUIT OIL, PELARGONIUM GRAVEOLENS FLOWER OIL, SODIUM HYALURONATE, SALVIA OFFICINALIS (SAGE) OIL, POGOSTEMON CABLIN OIL, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, TRANEXAMIC ACID, HYDROXYETHYL ACRYLATE/SODIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYL TAURATE COPOLYMER, SQUALANE, BISABOLOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, XANTHAN GUM, ADENOSINE, DISODIUM EDTA, POLYSORBATE 60, POLYQUATERNIUM-51, GLYCOSYL TREHALOSE, NEOPENTYL GLYCOL DIHEPTANOATE, ASCORBYL GLUCOSIDE, ZINC PCA, TOCOPHERYL LINOLEATE, HYDROGENATED STARCH HYDROLYSATE, RAFFINOSE, BIOSACCHARIDE GUM-1, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, SUCROSE DISTEARATE, PANTHENOL, CERAMIDE NP, LECITHIN, FOLIC ACID, ACETIC ACID, CHOLESTEROL, LACTIC ACID, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-5, TROMETHAMINE, ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-8, PALMITOYL PENTAPEPTIDE-4, POTASSIUM SORBATE
  • Consistency: Similarly like the serum, the consistency is almost like a gel! I find with gels though, they tend to be light but not moisturizing enough. However, this formula is light AND moisturizing + easily absorbed into my skin. I usually use very thick creams and oils at night but I found a nice spot for this cream for my morning daily use.
  • Smell: Like the serum, a light herbal, aromatherapeutic smell! Disappears once you rub the cream in.
  • Ingredients: Similar to the serum, but not as many active ingredients? I didn't find it lightened any serious hyperpigmentation - but hydration does brighten ones' skin! This is an amazing moisturizer for those hot days (Toronto suddenly reached 39 degrees the other day?!) where you want moisture...without the grease ^^"
PROS:
  • Light - Easily absorbed
  • Smell
  • Moisturizing
  • Slightly brightening
CONS:
  • Didn't really get rid of any hyperpigmentation

The Snow Mask Pack is pH balanced to match the skin’s natural, slightly-acidic pH, supporting the skin’s moisture barrier. Featuring naturally skin-supporting extracts like snail mucin extract and propolis, this mask brightens and smooths the skin for a naturally glowing complexion. Hydrating without feeling sticky, the Snow Mask soothes skin that may be flushed or irritated.
Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Naiacinamide, Butylene Glycol, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Panthenol, Snail Secreation Filtrate, Propolis Extract, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Pearl Extract, Beta-Glucan, Thuja Orientalis Extract, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Hydroxyethylcellulose, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Caster Oil, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Tromethamine, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance
  • One feature I love was the size of these face masks! They're one size smaller than the regular ones that are always way too big... these ones fit perfectly!
  • The cotton is pretty thick and very saturated
  • Left it on for 20 minutes before it started to get dry-my skin super plump and moisturized!
  • The serum that the mask is soaked in was sticky as usual but had a bit more of a "gel" texture to it - probably from the Snail mucin extract.
    • Although it claimed to be "hydrating without feeling sticky," it still did initially feel heavy and just as sticky as others - but it sunk into my skin without leaving a weird gooey film on my face. This allowed me to apply my skincare as I usually would!
  • Ingredients: Snail mucin extract and propolis are really amazing for healing the skin. I imagine I would ideally use this after spending a long day under the sun or if my skin is healing from acne!
Pros:
  • Size was perfect
  • Very saturated
  • Sticky - but absorbed better than other masks
  • Hydrating
  • Plumping
Cons:
  • Not really brightening? - still made my skin glowy/plump
Repurchase? yes

(You can see the size ends perfectly at the edge of my face!)
